Top Gear got rare access to the ahead of its official reveal. Luckily for us, they’ve revealed a few more bits of information about the upcoming supercar.

The Aventador SVJ is powered by a 6.5-liter, naturally-aspirated V12 engine that produces 770 hp. All this power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed sequential manual transmission. Also, like the Huracan Performante, the SVJ too gets rear-wheel steering.

So, the engine hasn’t been updated to produce a zillion horsepower. Still, the Aventador SVJ lapped the Nurburgring faster than the Aventador SV and set a new lap record in the process. So, how did it do it?

Well, the Aventador SVJ uses similar active aerodynamics as the Huracan Performante. This has helped increase the overall downforce on the front axle as well, which allowed the engineers to stiffen the front suspension. As a result, the SVJ is claimed to go around corners faster than a standard SV. It has more downforce than the SV but crucially, less drag. And and finally, Pirelli has developed Trofeo R tires with stiffer sidewalls specially for the SVJ.

Lamborghini will be taking the wraps off its new supercar later this month. So stay tuned!
