The F1 GTR was the most extreme iteration of the F1. A V12 engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission combined with extreme aerodynamic enhancements and significant weight reduction produced a monstrous track machine. While, revived the LT moniker in the form of the 675LT, the flagship didn’t receive the treatment.

Now, UK-based , best known for the P1 LM and road legal versions of the P1 GTR, have took to themselves to realize the P1 Longtail. Images posted by the company on Instagram reveal the first car being built. It is a one-off commissioned by a collector who goes by the name of  @speedy_gonzales999 on Instagram.

The P1 GT Longtail gets vents at the top of the fenders and a much larger front splitter. It has a more pronounced roof scoop and the whole car is painted in a distinct green shade. Details on the powertrain and structural enhancements are still scarce. However, it could feature the same 986 hp, twin-turbo V8 hybrid powertrain as the P1 GTR.

McLaren only built ten examples of the original F1 GTR Longtail. It was raced in the 1997 FIA GT Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. But unlike its predecessor, P1 GT Longtail is road legal and is likely to be even more extreme than the McLaren P1 LM.

The car is expected to be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours in August.
