How Electric Automobiles Work – Technology of the Future

How of the . We are seeing more and more vehicles on our roads. Cars like the Tesla Model X are not only considered hip but also are helping to save our planet from dangerous greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, electric cars can produce less than 50 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions that a fossil fuel-powered car does. How Electric Automobiles Work

But how do electric cars work? Most people are aware that electric automobiles use batteries for power, but there is more to it than just that…a lot more! Electric cars have 3 main components: Electric motor, Controller and Battery. Electric vehicles are powered by a series of rechargeable batteries that supply power to an electric motor. The electric motor is used to propel the electric car, much like an internal combustion engine that uses fossil fuels. These batteries are also needed for other things like lights, wipers, stereo, and other automobile accessories as well.

These batteries require charging on a regular basis. The driving range of these electric automobiles will vary by make and model. Some of the more inexpensive models may only have a driving range of up to 150 miles, before needing to be recharged. But models such as the Tesla Model S Sedan, boasts a driving range of over 300 miles, before needing to be recharged. Car manufacturers are working hard to improve battery life to extend beyod 400 miles in the near future.

As you can see, electric cars will need to be recharged on a regular basis, so you will need a charging station in your home that you can plug your automobile into at night, so that they will be fully charged for the next day. If you will be driving long distances such as traveling, you will need to make sure there will be charging stations along the way. Depending on where you live, charging stations may not be as common as in other parts of the country.

How Electric Automobiles Work

Arizona and other parts of the United States are slowly catching up to other countries in the UK that have neighborhoods such as Kensington and Chelsea which have charging stations on street-lamps. As this technology becomes more common, we can expect Arizona and other areas of the United States to catch up, and we will see more and more charging stations.

From outside the vehicle, electric cars look just like their fossil fuel counterparts. But since electric cars do not have an exhaust system, they do not emit carbon monoxide and other harmful gases into the environment like cars that run on fossil fuels. You will also not find a gas tank, instead, you will find a series of batteries. These batteries also have a regulator which controls the amount of energy produced by the batteries.

We can expect to see a lot of improvements as this technology advances in the future. Things like longer travel distances and plentiful charging stations will make this technology not only more user-friendly, as well as more environmentally friendly. Expect to see a lot more electric cars on our highways in the future. As this technology improves, the price of these automobiles will become more affordable as well; so there may be an electric car in your future as well!
