Not that long ago, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 powering the Hellcat versions of Dodge’s Charger and Challenger was the talk of the town.

Don’t get us wrong, those cars are still extremely fast – and so is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk that’s using those 707 HP even more efficiently than its smaller siblings by channeling them to all four wheels. Yet, this is 2018, and things have moved on a bit.

We got a taste of that earlier this year, when a lined up next to a McLaren 570S and challenged it to a straight line race. Safe to say, it didn’t end well for the family hauler, despite it getting a really good start off the line.

Anyway, you know who else is really good at getting off the line wickedly fast? Anything with a Tesla badge on it. And in the world of SUVs, they don’t get much faster than the Model X P100D flagship.

So while the Trackhawk is able to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in as little as 3.5 seconds and do the 1/4 mile in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph (186 km/h), according to Jeep, those numbers fall a bit short of what multiple Tesla X owners have managed to achieve on the drag . Which begs the question how they perform When pitted against each other on the – which you’ll have to watch the following video to find out.
