This particular car seems to be in a bit of disrepair, but if brought to good condition the Hertz Mustang is worth around $143,000, according to Hagerty. These are rare cars, too — somewhere around 1,000 were built, and who knows how many still exist today. Ford has made a bunch of throwback versions throughout the years, but the original GT350H is what we all yearn for. The Shelby-built 289 cubic-inch V8 made 306 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque back in 1966. Those were some rocking numbers for that era.
Some parts are missing, damaged or just plain wrong on this example, so there’s definitely a bit of work to do. The owner seems to have gotten into a wreck many years ago, then got partway through fixing it before it sat in neglect for who knows how long. Regardless, we surmise someone will happily restore it now, and either enjoy themselves a piece of history, or sell for a nice little profit. It’s hard not to like the black and gold color scheme on these classic Mustangs. Ford’s most recent GT350H look-a-like isn’t a rental, but rather a 2019 Shelby GT-H car with 480 horsepower. You can get it in the same black and gold color scheme as this original Hertz car, too.
